iProfile has acquired PurplePassport in a development that furthers its drive to become the company redefining the job seeking process.
The acquisition stands to benefit the 2.3 million people who have replaced their traditional CV with an iProfile, as well as million more that are yet to make the switch.
The PurplePassport technology enables recruiters and employers to view candidates' skills, achievements and training history, which will provide a rapid assessment of a applicant's qualifications and suitability.
Rick Bacon, chief executive officer of iProfile, said: "The acquisition of PurplePassport is an important move for us in capitalising on iProfile's enormous potential for business growth by giving us access to a larger market.
"We are gaining valuable insight into important aspects of personal development and the 'learning community', including the Sector Skills Councils."
He added that there is "no reason" why job hunters should continue to use an old-style CV, when they can benefit from a "dynamic profile for professionals".
