Businesses in the West Midlands have sent out the message to graduate job hunters that the region is a good place to start a career.
Young professionals membership group Birmingham Future is holding its Welcome to Birmigham event on October 7th, in which it will encourage those studying in the city to stay after university to take up a graduate job.
According to the Birmingham Post, the city is trying to prevent 'brain drain' to places like London, as one recent survey by Grad Central found that only one-fifth of undergraduates remain in the area.
Amanda Porter, chairwoman for Birmingham Future, said: "For those who ... choose to stay, or who return to make their careers here ... there are plenty of opportunities for personal and professional development in Birmingham."
Higher Education Statistics Agency figures recently revealed that over half of students in Wales have moved to take advantage of the increased graduate job opportunities in England, according to WalesOnline.
