Owner and creator of the blog Simply Oloni, Dami Olanisakin, has won an award for her writing of relationship advice. This prestigious blog award from a national magazine is a dream come true for the young blogger and journalism graduate.

Ms Olanisakin took home the top prize at Cosmopolitan's Blogger of the Year awards in the Best for Sex & Relationships category. The Editor in Chief who began simpleoloni.com as a project for her final assessment at the University of Bedfordshire, has now transformed it into a fully functional and extremely popular relationship advice site since graduating.

She explained that she was shocked when she learnt that her blog had been recognised by Cosmopolitan.

“I've wanted this win for a very long time and to finally get it feels like a dream come true,” she said. “Who knew that a blog and a final year project at the University of Bedfordshire would bring me so far?”

Other talented individuals and graduates to be shortlisted for the prestigious award included
Broadcast Journalism graduate Emily Knott. Her beauty tip blog, covers everything you could ever want to know about make-up, skincare and more.

Ms Knott wrote on her blog that she “couldn’t be more honoured and grateful” for the recognition that comes with the awards.

Senior Lecturer in Journalism at the University of Bedfordshire, Kate Ironside, commended the pair for the efforts poured into their respective blogs.

“They have converted skills developed at the University of Bedfordshire, displayed drive and initiative and now both command the respect of industry leaders in their fields,” she said.

Blogging is a big industry today and is a great career option for those who can write well and have the ability to engage with their readers on a high level.
