Those working in careers in graduate recruitment jobs could be interested to hear more than three million workers currently fear for their job safety, new research suggests.
According to new data released by the Trades Union Congress (TUC), 13 per cent of the UK workforce are not confident they will be in their job in one year's time
The YouGov poll commissioned by the TUC that is released today found that workers in Wales are the least confident of keeping their jobs as one in five (20 per cent) say they are "not very confident" in their positions.
Staff in the east of England are the most optimistic as only seven per cent felt unconfident of being in their job in a year's time.
TUC general secretary Brendan Barber said: "These poll findings show just how many people are getting worried about losing their job in the current economic slowdown."
Of course this does not mean unemployment will boom by three million but it does show how "jittery" people feel about the economy right now, he added.
The TUC's member unions represent more than 6.5 million people nationwide.
