Life after graduation
A young man who advertised his search for a graduate job using Anthony Gormley's celebrated One & Other project has now been employed.
The art project involves letting members of the public onto Trafalgar Square's fourth plinth in London for an hour at a time and Swansea University graduate Alex Kearns jumped at the opportunity to get noticed.
He held up a giant copy of his CV during his time on the plinth after being frustrated at the lack of opportunities open to him on the graduate job market and now he has been offered the position of sales executive at the International Business Development Group.
Alex said of the quirky stunt: "In the current climate, you have to work hard to stand out from the crowd! I saw this as a golden opportunity to sell myself."
With the graduate job market proving to be a competitive one at the moment, four proactive degree-holders from the University of Derby recently set up their own enterprises, according to the Derby Telegraph.
