Tips offered for graduate job hunters

With graduate jobs still being cut and the UK behind other European countries in coming out of a recession, one expert has offered some tips on how best to survive the current climate.
Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Emma Simpson told graduates to prioritise their debt in order to make the most of limited finances, paying any expensive loans off first such as credit cards or overdraft interest.
Improving CVs and interview technique is also recommended, as are making sure that any applications are followed up and taking up work experience if no graduate jobs are immediately forthcoming.
Ms Simpson added: "Drop into your university careers service. See an adviser and use their library. Most have information on potential employers and work placements."
Fashion and beauty specialist Nicky Hambleton-Jones recently said women who have landed themselves a graduate job interview should try to make themselves look as smart as possible even if they are strapped for cash.
