Monday, 21 September 2009
Supermarket giant the Co-operative is to team up with the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) in a new graduate scheme, it has been revealed.
Those looking to improve their CV to help them land a graduate job will be safe in the knowledge that the work experience provided meets the NCWE's new Quality Mark standards.
According to Personnel Today, the Co-op wants its graduate scheme to be as worthwhile as possible for university leavers who want to progress in the field of retail and the new accreditation will ensure such quality.
Hannah Slaney, graduate programme manager at the Co-operative Group, told the news provider: "Despite the recession, we have a strong desire to continue to develop and recruit young people, and are delighted to work with the NCWE to break new ground."
The Aldi supermarket chain was recently placed third on the Times list of the Top 100 Graduate Employers, thanks to its £40,000 starting salary and company car offer.
