Tesco 'still offering graduate jobs'
Friday, 19 September 2008
Supermarket giant Tesco has revealed it is still taking on graduates despite some other firms cancelling their programmes.
The company has revealed it plans to continue with its 15 graduate schemes which will see around 250 graduates start this month.
It states while other firms are cutting back on recruitment, the supermarket is "committed to hiring quality people".
Lorna Bryson, head of resourcing UK operations for Tesco, said: "We're looking for ... graduates who want to join one of the few British employers that still offers jobs with enough training and development opportunities to provide a career for life."
She added the firm offers a variety of positions from the legal side of the business to engineering, merchandising and buying.
Recently the supermarket chain revealed it was having problems motivating its younger staff, saying people in the 17 to 24-year-old age bracket are the least enthused, Personnel Today reported.
