Tenet has announced plans to launch an internship programme for up to 150 graduates.
The financial advisors are launching a pre-employment and internship programme aimed at helping 150 unemployed graduates find paid internships in financial services.
The UK’s largest adviser support group is working with the Financial Skills Partnership, to offer training facilities and supplying qualified trainers to potential interns.
The ten-week Graduate Foundation College scheme will give trainees a qualification to R01 standard on completion.
The R01 is a financial services, regulation and ethics qualification used across the UK financial services industry.
Tenet group distribution and development director Keith Richards says: “Tenet is proud to be supporting this programme from the outset. It is a very positive move, particularly given the impact of RDR and challenge of bringing new blood into the industry.
“This fast-track solution significantly shortens the graduate recruitment process for adviser firms and provides them with candidates who are already RO1 qualified.”
The R01 series starts on 16 October in Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, London and Manchester.
Internships and work experience are vital ways of gaining working knowledge of the sector you want to work in.
It can be a great experience and help you find out what you like and what you don’t like about the industry as well as niche roles you could see yourself doing in the future.
Whether you want to be a PR whizz or pharmaceutical genius, most industries and companies will take on students for work placements.
They can be fiercely competitive, as many graduates take on unpaid work placements to build their portfolio.
If you’re on the hunt for your first graduate job, an internship could give you extra skills and experience to make you stand out from the crowd.
