Temp agencies 'provide options' for jobseekers
Thursday, 06 November 2008
Employment agencies may be on hand to offer jobseekers the support they need to secure paid employment, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has claimed.
University-leavers awaiting the start of graduate schemes may be among those able to benefit from temporary employment arranged through an agency.
Tom Hadley, director of external affairs for the REC, says agencies are "a good place to go" to discover careers options, keep updated about the latest happenings in the jobs market and find a job quickly.
He adds: "If you are speaking to a recruitment agency, look into some of the short term jobs which on the one hand bring in the money, but are also a good way of testing yourself in different environments."
Mr Hadley commented that it was essential for graduates and other jobseekers to ensure their CV is right, especially in the current competitive market.
A Markit Economics Report on Jobs, published on November 5th, revealed that demand for medical temps was particularly strong during October.
