A prominent US legal firm has announced plans to establish its first ever graduate scheme in London, it emerged today (October 28th).

Sullivan & Cromwell intends to take on between four and six university leavers as part of its inaugural trainee programme in autumn 2013, Legal Week reports.

The company is also aiming to attend a number of graduate recruitment fairs in the near future in an attempt to boost its reputation among UK students.

Corporate partner Ben Perry, who will be overseeing the London scheme with Europe, Middle East and Africa projects head Jamie Logie, predicted that it will be "one of the best of its kind".

"Offering an English law training programme is something we have been working towards for some time," he told the news provider.

"It is a real demonstration of our commitment to London and we are looking for graduates seeking a long-term career with the firm."

Sullivan & Cromwell is headquartered in New York but has more than 800 employees working in 12 offices across the world.
