Published: Monday, 16 May 2011   Category: Banking and Finance

Hundreds of graduate opportunities will open at multinational banking firm Standard Chartered, after it announced they are to launch an international graduate scheme.

The bank is set to employ around 300 university-leavers to their graduate scheme while they will also employ around 200 people in a fast-track programme to banking graduate roles.

Eden Britt, head of talent acquisition for consumer banking at Standard Chartered, said by recruiting more people in graduate roles, the company would improve.

"To help us become the world's best international bank, we want to recruit graduates from different backgrounds who have the potential to be great future people, product and thought leaders and who can deliver great customer service," he said.

Standard Chartered has its main headquarters in the City of London, however, most of its revenues (80 per cent) come from the firm's efforts in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
