Security firm's graduate recruitment campaign is recognised

Defence and security firm QinetiQ has received a prestigious award for its latest graduate recruitment campaign at this year's prestigious Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Recruitment Marketing Awards.

The Farnborough-based science and engineering firm scooped the Grand Prix award, presented in association with the Guardian, for its innovative graduate recruitment campaign, after it employed the skills of leading independent marketer aia.

Helen Rosethorn, UK chief executive of the Bernard Hodes Group and chair of this year's judges, commented: "QinetiQ has built a clear proposition in a tight labour market, using both its brand, and a series of adverts and tools to engage students as potential recruits.

"QinetiQ's entry stood out, striking a successful balance between producing a distinctive, 'stand out' campaign whilst avoiding gimmicks. They provide graduates with a suite of material, encapsulating a large amount of detail in an engaging manner and inviting them to get to know more about the organisation."

QinetiQ's campaign gained particular plaudits from the judges for continuing to attract candidates in a field which has been suffering a marked shortage of skilled graduates in recent years.

Other award winners at the CIPD event included McDonalds, Virgin Atlantic and the Ministry of Defence.ADNFCR-1068-ID-18186316-ADNFCR
