Businesses looking to attract the best applicants should be aware that salary is not the only element that they are looking for, an expert has said.
This comes as a new survey by Randstad entitled 'Tempting enough talent?' revealed the salary trends across the UK.
Salaries in central southern England and in the Thames Valley are higher than any other regions outside of London, according to the data.
East Midlands is currently bottom of the salary list in the UK, with people earning some 21 per cent less than those in London, and almost five per cent less than the Yorkshire and Humberside region, which is the second lowest of the list.
Commenting on the issue, Fred van der Tang, managing director Randstad UK, said: "Our research and industry knowledge shows that salaries are very important when it comes to people job-hunting, but companies should be aware that other elements such as company culture, work environment and qualitative benefits are also important in attracting and retaining the best people."
