Recruiters who select appropriate candidates 'will have more work'

Graduates looking for work may be more inclined to choose a recruitment agency that offers additional services, it has been suggested.
According to Hirescores.com, the recession has made firms less keen to take on staff through agencies as they wish to cut their expenditure.
The online resource explained that many businesses tried to run their recruitment programmes alone, but found that they were inundated with applications.
As a result, those agencies that do give employers an extra service by selecting candidates based on their suitability to the job in question are more likely to be given contracts, managing director Lisette Howlett explained
The expert added that more graduates are using recruitment agencies due to the recession, but that it is important that such firms select the appropriate candidates to put up for interview.
Her comments follow research from KMPG and the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, which showed that the number of both permanent placements and temporary billings has increased for the past three consecutive months.
