The advisory, tax and assurance services will also see staff levels bolstered, while undergraduates will benefit from a summer business academy.
Recruitment is an ongoing operation at PwC, with 20 new employees recently starting at its Newcastle offices.
According to head of recruitment Sonja Stockton, the firm is locked in a battle for the best talent around, with firms even more keen to ensure they employ the right people in the recession.
"This year's recruitment campaign is not about maintaining our numbers, it's about our ambition and growth in the market," she said..
The expert explained that the company is looking for candidates that can combine talent, academic achievement and confidence with the ability to contribute and learn.
