Those looking for graduate jobs in finance might want to look to the public sector, according to one expert.
Jan McQuaker, regional director at Hays Public Services, explains that bodies in the sector can have massive turnovers and so finance skills are always in demand.
"Given the number of NHS organisations in the UK - each with their own finance department - there are plenty of career opportunities to consider," she said.
People will also be able to find positions with in social housing companies, which also offer a wide range of jobs, she added.
Accountants looking to work in the field of change management should consider local councils as many of these are undergoing a "major transition", Ms McQuaker stated.
Recently, the Independent reported comments by Sarah Churchman, director of diversity and inclusion at PricewaterhouseCoopers, who stated that firms in the financial services sector are working hard to appeal to all sectors of society.
