PR agencies continue to offer graduate jobs despite the current economic downturn, it has been claimed.
Brand Republic reports that the number of positions on offer in the sectors has "shot up" at most of the big firms in the sector.
"Weber Shandwick, Freud Communications and Edelman have all increased their graduate recruitment levels in 2008, indicating that bringing in new talent remains important to the industry," reports the news provider.
Offering graduate jobs allows new starters to bring a fresh approach to the workplace, it adds.
The website also quotes figures from PRWeek which show nine of the top ten agencies in the UK hired more than 85 graduates this year, compared with 64 in 2007.
Yesterday, research by the Council for Industry and Higher Education found that international firms are increasingly looking for candidates who have experience of living and working overseas.
According to the body, UK universities should offer more opportunities for students to spend sometime abroad.
