Online recruitment is the most effective way for an employer to attract top talent, it has been claimed.
Alan Charnock, deputy director of personnel and treasurer at The University of Essex, has stated that online recruiting has had a "high success" rate for the university, resulting in important positions being filled "quickly and cost effectively".
Mr Charnock said his organisation is aware that jobseekers are becoming increasingly reliant on websites to progress their career, so made the decision to advertise "predominantly" online ten years ago.
"We are constantly developing our online presence and brand to attract staff and aim to make the recruitment process more two-way through our own website too.
"Specialist online jobs boards are set to have an increasingly important role to play in helping employers recruit highly skilled staff, " he said.
It has been revealed that online jobseekers are a highly qualified group, with the national online recruitment audience survey finding that 44 per cent of users on jobs.ac.uk have a masters degree and 31 per cent have a doctorate.
