Olympic Games' 'feel-good factor' could lead to more graduate opportunities

The Olympic Games may lead to a proliferation of graduate vacancies across the country as the event will give the country a "feel-good factor".

That is according to Tom Hadley, director of policy and professional services at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, an organisation which represents the interests of private sector companies in the United Kingdom.

This increased optimism, along with the boost the Summer Games will give to the country's economy, will help promote tourism, meaning there will probably be more graduate opportunities in the service sector.

"What we'll hopefully have in the lead-up to the Olympics is a bit of a feel-good factor, which helps," he said.

"The implications … potentially could [stretch] across the whole country. Anything as high-profile as the Olympics does act as a platform for promoting tourism beyond the [event]. There will be a knock-on impact there."

London's Olympic Games will run from July 27th until August 12th, while the Paralympics games will begin on August 29th and finish on September 9th.
