Published: Thursday, 16 December 2010   Category: Science, Engineering and IT

The deadline for a graduate scheme with an UK-based independent nuclear waste consultants has been extended.

Graduates - or those soon to be leaving university - will be able to apply for the graduate scheme until New Year's Eve, a 28 day extension on their previous deadline of December 3rd.

The scheme, called nucleargraduates, is operated by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and is aimed at graduate engineers.

There are many roles for which graduates can apply as part of the nucleargraduates scheme, including the company's science, engineering and commercial divisions.

Successful graduates will sign a fixed two-year permanent contract; at the end of this time, the employee will be able to apply for a job a nucleargraduates stakeholder.

Stakeholders include the NDA itself, but also companies such as Rolls Royce and BAE Systems.

The NDA is responsible for decommissioning and cleaning up these nuclear facilities and safely disposing of radioactive waste.
