New graduate opportunities may come with new Welsh hotel

Graduate opportunities may open in Wales after a development company announced it was to build a new four-star hotel in the south of the country.

The Welsh government has agreed to sell 7.5 acres of land in Carmarthen's Parc Pensarn to Gryphon Leisure Ltd, who says the new development will create 100 jobs, which could include graduate roles.

Around £12 million will be invested into building the hotel, which the Welsh Assembly will give the region's economy a huge boost.

Ieuan Wyn Jones, the Welsh minister for economy and transport, revealed that proceeds of the sale will go towards a new internet-spreading scheme.

"It is always encouraging to hear of businesses planning for growth, particularly when there is the potential to create local jobs and new business opportunities for local companies," he said.

"I am also pleased the proceeds of the sale will support our investment in the roll out of broadband services which will benefit businesses across Wales."

The establishment, to be called Pensarn Park Hotel, is currently being developed by David Owen and Partners architects in Cardiff.
