New graduate jobs could come after wind farm plans revealed

A spate of new jobs - including graduate opportunities - are likely to appear in Wales if the planning of a new wind farm is approved.

The wind farm, which would be located off the shore between Anglesey and the Isle of Man, is planned by energy giant Centrica, according to the website IOM Today.

Centrica, a UK-based company, hope that work will start on the new 1,000-turbine site by 2016, with an investment of £8 billion.

Ken Milne, who is senior manager for energy policy for the Isle of Man's government, told the news provider he supported the bid and the prospective site.

"This is an enormous investment and there are great opportunities," he said.

As people and governments look to create more sustainable energy, a large number of graduate roles could be created in green industry.

Anglesey has recently become well-known as the location of a certain RAF rescue centre, one at which the recently-wedded Prince William is employed.
