Several groups from the digital media and marketing industry have joined together to call for a greater graduate recruitment push in the sector.
The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), Institute of Practitioners in Advertising and the British Interactive Media Association have all called for companies in the field to match finance and retail's graduate recruitment schemes.
According to newmediaage, firms are being encouraged to offer more media and marketing graduate jobs to young people who want to start a career working with digital technologies such as the internet.
Kate Dickinson, IAB operations manager and chair of its Talent Taskforce, told the news provider: "Universities don't provide enough advice on what it's like to work in the industry, so it's down to us as a trade body for the digital industry to pass this on."
Top graduate job provider PricewaterhouseCoopers recently said that university leavers wishing to find employment this year must not be fussy about which sector they work in.
