Those looking for graduate jobs in the security services might be interest to know MI6 has begun advertising via social networking site Facebook.

According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, the move is targeted at attracting a range of candidates from a wide and varied pool of people.

The ads begun a few weeks ago and are aimed at recruiting future operational officers, the representative stated.

She said: "The Secret Intelligence Service's open recruitment campaign continues to target wide pools of talent representative of British society today."

Facebook is just one of a number of channels MI6 use in order to target potential recruits, she added.

Meanwhile, those who feel their career could lie outside of spying could be interested to know teaching is an increasingly popular choice.

According to the Training and Development Agency for Schools, people seem to see it as a steady, rewarding career during the current economic downturn.ADNFCR-1068-ID-18801771-ADNFCR
