Medical diagnostics company may create science graduate jobs with new investment

Published: Monday, 21 March 2011   Category: Science, Engineering and IT

University-leavers looking for science graduate jobs may wish to apply at a leading medical diagnostics company which is about to invest around £16 million in expansion, including job creation.

Randox Laboratories, which is based in the Northern Irish village of Crumlin, is set to create 242 jobs across the country.

The jobs are being created with the help of Invest NI, which offered £2.4 million of investment.

Peter Fitzgerald, the managing director of Randox Laboratories, said that the investment was indicative of the company's "ambitious" outlook, particularly relating to emerging markets.

"We have identified sales opportunities in the rapidly expanding economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China and will be targeting these with our extensive portfolio of products," he said.

"We also have many new revolutionary products planned for release in 2011 that will make patient testing faster, simpler and more accurate."

The company currently employs 850 people around the world, including 620 at its Crumlin headquarters.
