University-leavers looking for graduate opportunities may wish to hunt through the graduate vacancies in the media and entertainment industries.
That is because, according to a new report, there has been a 40 per cent upswing in hiring levels in these sectors.
The report, by specialist recruitment company Handle, revealed that permanent appointments to roles in sales marketing and digital, human resources, office support, finance, legal and executive search departments were up.
Dominic Warman, head of Handle's marketing division, said that new technology helped increase the number of appointments.
"The digital space is obviously huge, particularly within media and entertainment and there is a real need for specialists to help organisations understand how consumers interact with content," he said.
"But there is also a real demand for professionals with not only creative flair but insight and analysis - people who can really add value to the bottom line."
Last week, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG revealed that the number of permanent placements across all sectors rose in February at the fastest rate in ten months.
