Graduate Job sector Reports
New data has revealed that the average salary for a job advertised in London is around £10,000 higher than the national average, good news for graduates seeking work in the area.
Jobs search engine AllTheTopBananas.com examined the details of some 880,000 advertisements and found that the average salary advertised in the capital is £38,998.
Commenting on the findings, Dave Martin, the managing director of AllTheTopBananas, said: "The difference between salaries in London and the rest of the UK may look huge. But with the cost of living being so much higher in the capital, it's unlikely Londoners feel that extra spending power."
However, he added that they witness a rise in salaries each time the monthly index is read which is a "fascinating picture" of wages in different regions of the country.
The data found that Wales was second to London with an average advertised salary of £32,030, while the north-east recorded the lowest with £26,067.
