Those interested in graduate IT jobs may welcome the news that salaries for IT professionals in London have increased by 4.3 per cent over the last 12 months, according to a survey by IT recruitment agency CV Screen.
The study was based across over 4,000 IT positions and showed London increases as the most substantial.
Figures show that an employee working in a permanent IT position in London can now earn an average salary of around £38, 577.
Alex Lawson, CV Screen's account manager for London, commented: "There is obviously a premium attributed to working in London and the survey shows that salaries are 15 per cent higher than those in the rest of the south-east region."
In comparison, an earlier survey by CV Screen showed that IT salaries in the south-east region increased by 3.4 per cent over the last 12 months.
He added that while many are predicting a gloomy economic year, high demand for IT staff in 2008 proves that the IT market is still in good health.
