Linklaters becomes top graduate law firm

News Article Published: Friday, 14 September 2007   Category: Law

Linklaters has been voted the top law firm for graduates for 2007, according to the Times Top 100 graduate employers list.

The firm finished in 28th position and, overall, the list was underrepresented by the legal profession.

Just 11 of the companies in the charts were from the legal sector with others including Allen & Overy (31st), Clifford Chance (45th) and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (55th).

Commenting on the findings, graduate recruitment manager Kerry Reed told legalweek.com: "Law firms only recruit a tiny percentage of the graduates compared to the numbers that big professional service firms take on."

She added: "They have a bigger campus presence than we do."

However, legal companies were not the only enterprises to underachieve. Defence organisations QinetiQ and the Ministry of Defence have both left the top 100.

Siemens, Airbus, Sony and Virgin all suffered the same fate.ADNFCR-1068-ID-18280971-ADNFCR
