Sales and recruitment
London-based law firm LG has filled up a new batch of graduate job vacancies with a team of 11 women and one man.
Although it may seem that the male-to-female ratio is skewed in favour of women, the company's graduate recruitment partner Geoffrey Gouriet claimed that LG has simply demonstrated that all genders are welcome.
Mr Gouriet told the Lawyer website that the results of the graduate job allocation were not pre-planned and instead represent the best candidates for the positions available.
"My sense is that women are well represented at every level in the firm - there's no better example of this than the fact that our senior partner is a woman," he said.
The Bristol Evening Post recently reported that the new Pathways to Law scheme, organised by the city's College of Law, will encourage young people from all backgrounds to think about setting themselves up for a graduate job in law.
