Legal jobs market 'in good health'
Thursday, 28 February 2008
The legal jobs market is "buoyant" despite fears of a downturn, it has emerged.
Ten-Percent Legal Recruitment has reported an encouraging month in the industry, offsetting a general "feeling of foreboding" that changes for the worse may have been imminent.
Statistics have shown that the number of permanent placements is around the same as last year, which the group see as a good sign as this is the area which tends to suffer first in a crisis.
Commenting on the issue, a spokesman said: "We are good on all permanent fronts, not so good on temporary fronts, although this is fairly normal for us. Will pick up on the latter in a few weeks I suspect as moves start to take place.
The group notes that there are many firms interviewing at the moment which reflects the fact that there seems to be an increase in work "across the board" at the moment.
Ten-Percent Legal Recruitment was formed at the beginning of 2000 and focuses on the recruitment of solicitors.
