Law firm announces graduate training deal
Thursday, 04 September 2008
An international law firm has signed a new agreement which will see all its graduate training courses offered by one provider.
The College of Law will now be the sole provide of three separate qualifications to those working in graduate jobs at Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton's city arm, reports Legal Week.
Speaking to the website, Shaun Goodman, graduate recruitment partner at the law firm, said: "We found our trainees were arriving with different levels of knowledge and took the view that doing all three courses through a single provider would let us remove duplication."
The move will also allow the firm to better target internal training, he added.
Under the deal, the College of Law will train the company's employees in the Graduate Diploma in Law, the Legal Practice Course and the Professional Skills Course.
Last month, the website reported that Norton Rose is considering introducing exams similar to the National Admissions Test for Law for those who apply for graduate jobs with the firm.
