Recent university leavers who have yet to secure a place on a graduate recruitment scheme may be interested to hear that a number of deadlines at some top recruiters are looming large, the Times reports.
BP, one of the oil industry's largest employers, is closing applications for its 2010 graduate programme at midday on Friday February 12th.
The firm has around 150 vacancies for graduates across the engineering, science and business sectors in locations all over the UK. Remuneration for the scheme is extremely competitive and includes a £2,500 "golden hello".
Those graduates with an IT degree may also want to get in touch with the Government Communications Headquarters in Cheltenham, which is after a test analyst to join its 1,500 IT specialists.
Applicants must possess a minimum 2.2 degree in a technical profession for the £24,945-a-year job for which the deadline for applications is tomorrow (February 11th).
Yesterday, the latest bi-annual graduate recruitment survey from the Association of Graduate Recruitment advised against university-leavers taking a gap year.
