Nine recruits, including several university leavers, have joined the ranks at top graduate employer KPMG as part of a new scheme.
Eight of the lucky graduate job hopefuls have gained a degree but will go through further training at the financial services firm while also learning the tricks of the trade by working in important capacities.
According to IFCFeed.com, the Jersey trainees are all excited about what the firm has to offer them in terms of gaining industry skills, which could prepare them for another graduate job in the future.
Rebecca Davies, 23, told the news provider: "I am looking forward to making the most of the opportunity to progress quickly through a combination of study and experience. I hope to be able to experience the diverse experience that KPMG offers as that will be invaluable."
Employers should take note of the effect graduate job cuts had on the accountancy industry in previous economic downturns, according to one expert.
KPMG recently warned alongside Deloitte that after reducing their intake of graduates in the 1990s, they found there was a dearth of talented graduates on their books, according to the Guardian.
