Job hunters 'comfortable using social networks'

Today's graduates feel relaxed about contacting potential employers via social networking sites, it has bee claimed.
Jayne Rowley, publishing director for Graduate Prospects, said prospective employers can be identified by using such sites, especially now that they are increasingly expanding their reach into professional areas.
She added that modern graduates feel comfortable about conversing with recruiters in such a way as they are part of the "Facebook generation".
"The more resources a graduate can identify, the more choice they are giving themselves," said Ms Rowley
"The Facebook generation will feel entirely comfortable engaging with employers in this way in the future."
According to Tim Gibbon, editor of the Social Media Portal, social networks are an essential business tool in some sectors.
However, he noted that the expansion of such a culture into the workplace means businesses need to share knowledge and experience of the issue.
