Graduates seeking employment in the information technology sector may be buoyed by comments claiming that recruitment in the sector is holding up.
According to Satnam Brar, managing director of IT recruiter Maximus, business is "very busy" at present, as employers search for new appointees with the necessary computing skills.
Speaking to Recruiter Magazine, he said: "We are finding growth in a lot of the intelligence markets. Clients want to be achieving more from their systems, especially on the financial side."
He was speaking after a study conducted by pre-employment screening firm powerchex claimed that IT recruitment in the finance sector was down by three-quarters as a result of the banking crisis and economic downturn.
Earlier this week, research conducted by the IT Job Board indicated that 56 per cent of employers are still struggling to hire IT professionals, potentially indicating that there may be graduate jobs available in this sector.
