HR professionals have chance to earn £140,000 a year

Human resources professionals can earn up to £140,000 and more, giving good news for people looking for graduate jobs in the area, according to a report.
The research, from FSS, shows that the average salary of a director in human resources working in London is £100,000 if they are working in the private sector. If they are working in the public sector however, the figure slumps down to £70,000.
Jo Davies, associate director of FSS human resources, told Personnel Today: "It certainly seems as though 2008 is set to be a strong one for HR. Companies are offering highly competitive salaries and benefits to attract and retain the best talent in both the public and private sectors.
She added that the candidates with in-demand experience will almost certainly be "courted by several potential employers".
The average pay of a human resources manager in London is £50,000 in the private sector, £8,000 more than those in the public sector.
FSS is a recruitment agency which operates in finance, technology and human resources areas.
