Graduate Job sector Reports
The HR sector is struggling to attract the right talent according to many HR professionals currently employed in the financial services.
A survey by recruitment firm Oakleaf has found that almost nine out of ten of over 110 HR professionals believe that there is not sufficient quality in the industry, reports Personneltoday.
The figures also show that six out of ten respondents would prefer to hire from outside sectors, with only a quarter stating they would be confident to recruit from within, the report continues.
Commenting on the trend, Martyn Wright, joint managing director of Oakleaf Partnership, said: "Our findings show that HR in the City is under pressure to perform, to attract the right talent, and to meet the increasing expectations from the business."
Mervyn Davies, chairman of Standard Chartered Bank, also pointed out that it is crucial that the "business perception" of HR is improved especially given the current economic climate.
