Holidays 'important for workers'

Life after graduation
Taking a break from the workplace can help employees be more productive and it is important that all workers use all of their holiday allowance, it has been claimed.
People who have recently embarked on graduate jobs may think that not taking their full holiday entitlement will emphasise their dedication, however Jonathan Cudworth, head of product marketing at Expedia.co.uk, advises that taking time away from the office can make people more productive.
"Holidays are very important for a happy and productive workplace. Simply taking even just a few days away from the office will enable you to be more productive when you get back to work," he added.
Mr Cudworth's comments follow research from Expedia which highlighted that 60 per cent of Brits plan to make use of their full holiday entitlement this year, despite mounting workplace pressures.
However, almost a quarter of those questioned admitted to keeping in touch with colleagues and checking work emails while away from the office.
