The Hilton hotel group has announced that it is looking for graduate talent, as part of a recruitment drive to fill 700 UK vacancies.

The firm offers talented graduates the opportunity to take up its 18-month Elevator programme that will help them on their way to becoming senior leaders within the company. This is with a view to taking up roles such as hotel general manager.

To take their learning even further, graduates and other employees can enroll in the Hilton Worldwide University, an award-winning, e-learning facility, where they can choose from a rang of 2,000 courses  in a choice of 18 languages. The five online colleges (Owners, Leaders, General Studies, Commercial and Hotel) also have their own deans.

Ben Bengougam, VP HR, Europe, Hilton Worldwide said: "Our hotels cover the length and breadth of the U.K. and Ireland and the opportunities we offer stretch across the field of hospitality - from chefs to engineers and from architects to room attendants.

"We're looking for people with a good work ethic and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. In return, we provide a fun, exciting, varied and supportive environment to prosper and grow, offering world-class training and development programmes to enable our people to fulfill their potential."

Hilton Worldwide employs over 30,000 people and has more than 225 hotels in Europe.

The company’s recruitment efforts were praised by Chris Grayling, Minister for employment, who said:

"Youth unemployment is my biggest priority in government and I have asked businesses to join us in giving real opportunities to young people. Hilton Worldwide is a great example of what businesses can do by offering jobs, apprenticeships and key skills for people trying to find work."

Today marks the start of several week-long Careers@HiltonLive events across the UK and Europe. This will give graduates a real picture of life at Hilton Worldwide hotels and includes activities such as career speed dating with industry experts, preparing a top class CV and how to perform better at interviews.

Would you choose the Hilton for your first graduate job?  Have you thought about a career in the hotel industry?
