Life after graduation
Workers can reduce the likelihood of suffering from stress in the workplace by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it has been suggested.
In comments which may be of interest to those working in graduate jobs, Bupa UK assistant clinical director Dr Rebecca Small said professionals should eat a healthy, balanced diet and take regular exercise.
She adds that discussing work-related issues with friends and family can prove to be something of a release for those under pressure in their current employment role, although turning to alcohol is not advisable.
"If you are feeling under a lot of stress your GP should be able to help as well," Dr Small added.
Research conducted by Bupa UK Health Insurance has found that women, on average, are significantly more stressed than men.
Half of all female employees are said to be experiencing greater stress at work as a result of the economic downturn, compared to just over a third of men.
