The Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC) State of the Industry Year-End Report has indicated that year-end revenue for the industry increased by 22 per cent between the final quarter of 2006 and the final quarter of 2007.
While the analysis indicated a stationary period between Q3 to Q4, year-on-year trends showed an increase in all industry sectors, which may be welcome news for recent graduates.
Commenting on the findings, AESC president Peter Felix said: "The performance of the executive search industry over the past four years has been exceptional.
"It reflects the tremendous need for executive talent which is being experienced around the world as the baby boomers retire in western countries and major new markets such as China, India and Russia evolve into dynamic market economies."
Additionally, financial services saw just one per cent increase in searches between Q3 and Q4 in 2007, yet it was the industry with the highest year-on-year growth of more than 11 per cent.
