Guardian graduate fair shows graduate jobs still available
Friday, 17 April 2009
Bookings for exhibitors at the upcoming Guardian London Graduate Fair are on track to match last year's numbers, providing hope for those looking for graduate jobs in the area.
According to the newspaper, the event, which is one of the largest graduate job fairs in Europe, has already attracted 7,000 pre-registering visitors and more than 100 exhibitors.
The whole of the economy will be represented, with companies from the poorly-performing financial sector still interested in graduate talent.
Companies attending the fair include Waitrose, Abercrombie and Fitch, the London Fire Brigade and Cancer Research UK.
Students and graduates who attend the event will have access to expert and impartial advice ranging from job hunting research and preparation, improvement of employability skills and selling positive attributes.
Professional membership body the Recruitment Society recently warned graduates that "generalists" will not go far in the application process.
