A growth in IT helpdesk positions is good news for anyone looking to pursue a graduate IT career, an expert has claimed.
New figures released by theitjobboard.com revealed a 45 per cent increase in demand for helpdesk positions compared to the same period last year.
And the study also revealed a 35 per cent increase in demand of IT project managers over the same period, crm2day.com reported.
Adam Stokes, operations manager at theitjobboard.com, told the site: "The demand in helpdesk roles is great news for graduates and junior candidates as these types of roles provide a launch platform for their IT careers.
"A growth in the demand for project managers is usually an indication that there is a growth in new projects being scheduled that need recruiting for," he added.
Earlier this year the Association of Technology Staffing Companies revealed that there is currently an undersupply of web developers entering the IT recruitment market, driving up wages by 26 per cent in the 12 months leading up to August 2007.
