Graduates warned of dangers of hung parliament
Monday, 26 April 2010
Recent university leavers looking for graduate jobs in business management may be interested in the results of a British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) survey on the prospect of a hung parliament.
Its Monthly Business Survey showed that nearly two-thirds of businesses are "concerned" or "very concerned" about the potential impact of a hung parliament, showing the growing unease associated with a spread of power.
David Frost, director general of the BCC, said: "Businesses are right to be wary about the prospect of a hung parliament. Instinctively, companies prefer a clear mandate to lead and govern.
"With our economy still fragile and the public finances in a dire state, the overwhelming concern is whether a hung parliament will provide decisive action around the UK's unsustainable deficit."
The three leaders of the main political parties will be discussing the subject of the economy in the third and final televised leaders' debate on Thursday April 29th.
