Graduates to receive help at job fair
Wednesday, 13 May 2009
Graduates in the north-east have been invited to a recruitment fair in Newcastle in June, which will allow them to meet prospective employers and receive advice for job hunting.
Organised by commercial development firm Entrust's Graduate for Business Service, the Get Hired 09 fair will focus on small and medium enterprises, according to the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette.
The company aims to give those looking for graduate jobs information on preparing to look for employment as well as the chance to liaise with recruiters based in the north-east.
Lisa Blackie, graduate co-ordinator for Entrust, told the newspaper: "Recession is a word that recent graduates are hearing all too often, and for many the prospect of starting their careers now is a daunting one."
Bookings for exhibitors at the upcoming Guardian London Graduate Fair are on track to match last year's numbers, according to the newspaper, providing hope for those looking for graduate jobs in the area.
