Graduates must 'be organised' to bag graduate opportunities

Published: Friday, 20 May 2011   Category: All Graduate job news

It is tougher for graduates to find graduate opportunities now than it has been over the previous years and students need to be organised in order to find employment, according to advice website My Graduate Career.

A recent survey conducted by High Fliers Research revealed that the proportion of final year students expecting to enter the graduate job market this year has increased substantially, compared with recent years.

Janet Davies, editor of mygraduatecareer.com and chief executive officer of Davies Development Services, backed up the findings with anecdotal evidence.

"One of the key things is students need to be organised. They can't wait [until] the last minute and cross their fingers and hope for the best. They need to use all of the resources at their disposal," she said.

Across the world, one in three employers have difficulty filling jobs due to a lack of available talent, according to ManPower.
