Graduates who have successfully gained employment are likely to have also gained weight, a new study has revealed.
According to research by CareerBuilder, half of all UK employees claim to have piled on the pounds while in their current positions.
The figures may have something to do with the fact that ten per cent of people dining out every lunchtime, with a further ten per cent eating from the office vending machine at least once a week.
Commenting on the findings, director of Human Resources for CareerBuilder in Europe, said: "More than one-in-ten UK workers say they have gained over one and half stone in their current jobs."
He added: "Between hectic schedules and the temptations of office treats, it's often difficult to make good decisions about food when you're at work.
"However, taking the time in the evenings or mornings before work to pack your own lunch and snacks can help keep you on a healthy track and control what you're eating and how much of it."
The research also revealed that 53 per cent of females had gained weight compared to 47 per cent of males.
