Graduates happy in Aldi jobs
Thursday, 10 December 2009
Former students hoping to land a graduate job in the retail sector could have a "dream" opportunity with supermarket Aldi, if one employee's experiences are anything to go by.
Francesca Haynes joined the company on its graduate jobs scheme, which offers a £40,000 starting salary, company car and private healthcare, and was offered a level of responsibility from the first day.
According to the Independent, the 27-year-old is responsible for the running of eight stores and is one of 130 graduates to be taken on by the firm under its recruitment scheme in 2009 and 2010.
Dan Ronald, regional managing director responsible for graduate recruitment at Aldi, told the newspaper: "Our expectations may be high but so is the level of job satisfaction. [Graduates] need to make an impact immediately."
University leavers interested in the retail sector could have an increased chance of landing a graduate job with Vodafone, after it announced a boost in vacancies for 2010.
